TABLE QUIZ
A large crowd turned out on Friday night for the club’s table quiz fundraiser, creating a very enjoyable and successful event. The club extends sincere thanks to all sponsors, both local and from outside the parish, and to those who donated spot prizes. Special thanks are due to quizmaster Mark Casey and his team of correctors, Mary Keenan, Anne and Mike Larkin for their smooth and efficient running of the quiz. Thanks to Jenny, Amanda and Caroline for preparing the impressive hampers for the night. A particular word of gratitude goes to Niamh McPartland for hosting the event, and to all who assisted in any way throughout the evening. Thanks to all participants who supported the quiz and all funds raised will go directly towards the running of the club, and that’s very much appreciated.

LONGFORD HURLERS
Hard luck the Longford Senior Hurlers, who lost out the NHL Division 4 final at the weekend to Sligo. The team can still reflect on a great campaign that saw them promoted to Division 3 and can now look forward to the Lory Meagher Cup. Massive shoutout to our own Johnny Casey who became the most capped Longford Senior Hurler of all time, with 139 appearances for Longford in Senior Hurling Competition. Johnny made his Longford Senior Hurling debut 19 years ago in March 2007 and later captained Longford, won the Lory Meagher Cup in 2014 and multiple National League titles. The dual player has won 3 Longford SHC titles and 4 Longford IFC titles with his native club St Brigid’s Killashee. Congratulations Johnny.

LONGFORD FOOTBALLERS
Hard luck to Dylan Farrell and the Longford Footballers who were defeated by Carlow after extra time in the Division 4 final in Croke Park. All eyes now turn to the first round of the championship against Westmeath in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday 12th April at 3pm.

MOYNE ABÚ
Congrats to our own Michael and Frank Murtagh who were part of the Moyne Community School Team who won their Leinster PPS U16 C Final against Scoil Chaitriona Glasnevin on a scoreline of 3-11 v 2-5 last weekend. Fantastic achievement.

ST. BRIGID’S FOOTBALLERS
Our own senior team are out in the first round of the 2026 All County Football League Division 2 on Thursday evening next against near neighbours Grattan Óg in Stonepark at 6pm. Please turn out to support as we get out league campaign underway.
