COUNTY ACTION
Mixed fortune for our county senior teams last weekend at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

On Saturday, the Senior Hurlers made a strong start to their quest for the Lory Meagher Cup with a big win over Lancashire. Congrats to Johnny Casey, Kealan Cox, David Buckley, and Daire Regan who are all part of the squad.

The Senior Footballers had a tough day on Sunday in the Leinster Championship. While our own Dylan Farrell scored an impressive ten points, including four two pointers, the team were beaten by a much stronger Westmeath side, who laid the foundations for a comprehensive victory with a clinical first‑half display.

DEEPEST SYMPATHIES
On behalf of everyone at St Brigid’s GAA Club, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Nolan family, Derryadd, on the sad passing of Tom Charlie Nolan.

Tom was a former player with the club and a valued member of the panel that won the Intermediate Championship in 1974. A goalkeeper by trade, Tom always played between the posts and was known for his reliability and calmness under pressure. While not as prolific as his brothers Peter and Paddy, Tom was someone the team could always depend on when numbers were tight, he never let us down.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Tom had a great knowledge of all sports, with a particular passion for horse racing. Above all, he was a lovely, quiet man who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
